Biography

株式会社ECOLOGGIEは、早稲田大学で昆虫コオロギの生産技術研究していた葦苅（弊社CEO）の成果をもとに2017年創業。コオロギを活用した食品、飼料の生産と販売を手掛ける。
現在は、東南アジアで小中規模の養殖コオロギの生産者と連携しながら、昆虫コオロギを中心とした食料生産ネットワークを構築している。
COO池田は、国内外のコオロギ消費の需要喚起と事業開発に取り組む。

Insects may be a valuable food source in the future

Description

The global population is expected to exceed 9 billion by 2050, and the demand for food is expected to increase dramatically. In order to avoid a devastating food crisis, the global search for innovative alternative foods and proteins is underway, including those led by international organizations such as the United Nations.
In this session, we will highlight "insects" as a highly nutritious food source. We will showcase business and research cases centered upon insects both in Japan and overseas and discuss the reality and potential of utilizing insects for food.
